Alright, start with simplifying both sides

(2)/(7) k+ (-3)/(8) = (-19)/(8)
Than add
(3)/(8) to both sides.

(2)/(7)k + (-3)/(8) + (3)/(8) =(-19)/(8) + (3)/(8)
which is
(2)/(7) k=-2

After this, multiply each side by
(7)/(2)

( (7)/(2))* (2)/(7) k= ( (7)/(2))*(-2)
