The partridge flew from pear tree to pear tree. He flew 26 feet and landed on a branch of the first tree. Then he flew 35 feet to the second tree, 37 feet to the third tree, and 46 feet to land on the fourth tree

How many feet did the partridge fly in all?

How much is that in yards

This is simply asking how much did the partridge travel in all in yards.

26+35+37+46=144
But this is not our answer, because you want it in yards. There are 3 feet in one yard, so simply divide 144 by 3 to get 48.
48 is our answer

26 + 35 + 37 + 46 = 144
Every 3 feet is one yard, so 144/3 = 48
48 Yards
