Which line from "I Am Offering this Poem" by Jimmy Santiago Baca is an example of simile? A. When winter comes to cover you B. Keep it like a warm coat C. I am offering this poem to you, D. Since I have nothing else to give

A similie contains like or as, so A) is wrong, C) and D) are to. And the only answer left is B because it contains like, or as, making a similie, because it says, Keep it *Like* a warm coat.

The correct answer is B. Keep it like a warm coat. The speaker tells his beloved to keep the poem as "a warm coat" or as "a pair of thick socks" which can protect her from the cold. When comparing his poem with a coat and a pair of socks, the speaker uses the poetic device of the simile.
