what is the main difference between the roles of state and federal judges and other elected officials

A state judge handles more local cases. A federal judge handles normaly larger cases or cases that took place on federal properly. jugdes have tge power to block laws made by congress or the president. jugdes arnt elected by the people.

The main difference is that A state judge only handle cases that happen within one state while the federal judges could handle all cases that happen from all over the states.

Another difference is that the federal judges could review a certain law and consider it as 'unconstitutional'. This make the law cannot be passed. The state judge does not possess this power.
