A condition known as incomplete dominance can result when heterozygous individuals exhibit a phenotype intermediate between homozygous individuals, and both alleles are expressed in the offspring. It is a form of intermediate inheritance where an allele for a particular trait is not completely expressed over its paired allele. This results to a third phenotype which the expressed physical trait is a combination of the phenotypes of both alleles.
