I believe the answer is: both sets of participants experienced elevated stress levels

High testosterone individuals tend to filled with desire to 'dominate' other, which often make them feel stressful in low-status situation when they couldn't show their dominance.
Low-testosterine individuals tend to be at ease in peaceful and orderly situation. so they tend to feel stressful in high-status situation when they're surrounded by threat of competitions.
