The Columbian Exchange, Native Americans and the Land, Nature Transformed, TeacherServe, National Humanities Center. The contrast between the two sets of organisms, Old World and New World, those closely associated with humanity—crop plants, domesticated animals, germs, and weeds—was very sharp.
