The new volume inside the container is calculated using the Boyles law formula

that is P1V1=P2V2
P1 =105.0 kpa
V1 = 2 L
V2= 1.5 L
P2=?
by making P2 the subject of the formula P2 = P1V1/V2

= (105.0 kpa x 2 L)/ 1.5 L = 140 KPa is the new pressure inside the container
