In the food chain how much energy is transfered from the sun to the producer

Ten percent of the energy from the sun is transferred to the producer. Each step up the chain results in a tenfold decrease in transfer; therefore, the consumer, which is the next step up the chain, would only receive ten percent of the energy from the producer, or one percent of energy from the sun.
