George Wilson seems to believe in the Eyes of TJ Eckleburg more than he seems to believe in any other established God. When he finds out Myrtle has been cheating, he says that he was fooled but that she couldn't fool god, and he looks out the window at the billboard. This is disturbing and sad because he only has an old billboard to believe in and nothing is going to come to him in the form of return.
