The perimeter of the shape would be: 4w + 12

To find the perimeter, we add up all 4 of the sides of the rectangle.

We have two widths that are: w and w

We have two lengths that are: w + 6 and w + 6

The perimeter is:
w + w + w + 6 + w + 6

or just:

4w + 6
