We have to deal with the distance in more detail
If the turtle is 11 times faster than the snail, the amount of distance he will cover is 11 times more.
d/(360 - d) = 1/11
11d = 360 - d
12d = 360
d = 30 The Snail covers 30 meters. The turtle covers 11*30 = 330 meters.
Answers
Rate of snail
= 30 meters / 40 minutes = 3/4 meter / minute
Rate of turtle
= 330 meters / 40 minutes = 8.25 meters / minute.
