The easiest way is to draw a square around the triangle connecting all the vertices, find the area of the square, then find the area of the new triangles, then subtract the area from the triangles from the square. Lastly, I THINK I think that you multiply everything by 2. I'm not that sure about that.

The formula for the area of the triangle is

1/2 × base × height

Base = 7

height = 5

1/2 × 7 × 5

1/2 × 35

area = 17.5 m^2
