Aldosterone increases the reabsorption of sodium ions bringing more back into the blood.
This is the main mineralocorticoid hormone of the adrenal gland. The function of the aldosterone is in the homeostatic regulation of blood pressure, plasma sodium (reabsorption) and potassium levels (excretion).
