Vitamin A
Vitamin A is essential in maintaining the health of epithelial cells. Deficiency of vitamin A adversely affect the conjunctival and corneal epithelial cells causing the loss of goblet cells and increased in epidermal keratinization and metaplasia of most mucus membranes. This can exist in three form retinol, retinal and retinoic acid. These are needed by many cells in our body.
