A client has surgery for an abdominal cholecystectomy and returns from surgery with a nasogastric tube to low continuous suction, a T-tube, and an indwelling catheter. Which intervention should the nurse perform first?

A cholecystectomy is excising the gallbladder ,ligating cystic duct and inserting a t tube for drainage. Post operatively the nurse should check the patient's vital signs and check the attachments like the nasogastric tube, t tube and catheter if they are in place. For nasogastric tube by checking the placement,also the t tube she should check the color and amount of the drains and for the catheter if there is a urine output and the color as well.
