What did the Free-Soilers oppose? Why?

Free-Soilers were against slavery. They didn't want slavery spreading into the free land out West. They believed They knew they couldn't stop slavery where it already was, but they didn't want it to spread. They wanted it to just stay in the South, and the South only.
