Before Romeo met Juliet, he was a balance between Mercutio and Benvolio. He was composed and clever but still adventurous. After he met Juliet, he became more impulsive and often did or said things without thought. From this change in behavior, we learn that Romeo is a passionate lover and an impulsive person.
