Answer : Rutherford proposed an atomic model, which is also called as nuclear atom or planetary model of the atom.

In this model he described the atom are composed of a tiny, dense, positively charged core which is called as a nucleus, in which nearly all the mass of the atom is concentrated, And around it there are light, negative constituents, which are called as electrons, which circulate at some distance similar to planets revolving around the Sun.
