Explanation,

Let's start off with the sqaure.

All four sides are 6cm. Therefore, 6 * 6 = 36.

Now, for the triangles.

The area for one triangle is, 12.

We concluded this by, using the formula h*b/2 .

6 * 4 / 2 = 12

Then we do, 12 * 4 because there are 4 triangles.

12 * 4 = 48

Lastly we do, 36 + 48 to get, 84cm^2

for the square, 6 x 6 = 36^2cm and for each triangle you have to use the equation base x height divided by 2 so each triangle is equal to 12^2cm. 12 x 4 = 48 + 36 is a total of 84^2cm or A
