The best type of diagram would be a
food web.
A food web shows how the different plants and animals are connected. A topography of plants shows only how abiotic factors like climate and water, to name a few, affect plants. A food chain only shows only one path of how food is obtained. A picture of an owl capturing a mouse does not show the other parts of an ecosystem.
So the answer would be, pictures of plants and animals in a food web.
