This is false. The Truman Doctrine was created in hopes of stopping the spread of communism after a World War II. In this doctrine, Truman pledged $400 million of aid to the countries of Turkey and Greece. These two countries were in jeopardy of falling to communism due to their close location to the Soviet Union.
