Dopamine activity
Schizophrenia is a serious disorder which affects the thoughts,emotions and actions of an individual. Positive symptoms of schizophrenia are disorders of commission which include thoughts and actions of a patients which are delusions, hallucinations, disordered thinking and speech, and disorganized behavior. These positive symptoms are closely associated with the activity of dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter released by the brain and it performs various roles in humans. Some of its notable functions are in memory, learning, mood, movement, sleep, attention, pleasurable reward, behavior and cognition.
