The most important responsibility of the case manager is to assess capabilities, demonstrate the use of assistive devices, and assess how the client will manage at home.  As a result of the CVA, and with residual hemiparesis, it is always important to assess the capability and ensure safety with use of assistive devices. Therefore, to ensure safety, the home situation needs to be assessed to determine if the client can manage.
