The value of x was found to be 7.

Solution-

In the given trapezium, the parallel sides are NO, MP and QR is the median.

From the geometric properties of trapezium, we know that,

The median line is always parallel to the bases and its length is the average length of the bases.

$\Rightarrow (NO+MP)/(2)=QR$

$\Rightarrow ((3x-8)+(7x+4))/(2)=33$

$\Rightarrow 3x-8+7x+4=66$

$\Rightarrow 10x-4=66$

$\Rightarrow 10x=70$

$\Rightarrow x=7$

Therefore, the value of x is 7.
