Rations were issues across America to preserve vital supplies and resources for our soldiers fighting in the war.  The impact that this had was enormous, as we were able to send better quality goods, and more quantity of them than we had ever been able to do before, this boosted the morale of soldiers, and the supplies kept them going through the war effort.
