The major difference between Eastern and Western after World War 2 is the fact that most of Eastern Europe was communist because of Soviet influence, while most of Western Europe followed the democratic views that the United States followed, socialist influence from Germany and Italy, or just remained under the style of government it had followed previous to the war.
