Excess saturated fats are unable to be broken down by the body, so they’re stored in the walls of the veins and arteries; this causes the veins and arteries to narrow, as well as become hard. This makes it very difficult for blood to pass through and ultimately leads to various disease states.

Consuming high amounts of saturated fats linked to increased heart disease risk. Boston, MA, consuming high amounts of four major saturated fatty acids found in red meat, dairy fat, butter, lard, and palm oil may increase risk of coronary heart disease.
