Why can a more complex sugar polysaccharide store more energy than a monosaccharide?

The word polysaccharide means it is made up of many sugar molecules or saccharide units arranged in a sequence.

The word monosaccharide states that the molecule is made of a single sugar molecule.

As polysaccharide is made of many saccharide molecules it has more energy as compared to a single sugar ( monosaccharide).
