Essays.
In general, the essays' purpose is to inform, argue/support a point of view, or convince someone of a certain point of view, using valid sources that support the ideas in it (speeches, books, theories, etc.). The author is the one who organizes the order of the ideas of the topic, according to what he/she wants to accomplish or convey. Therefore, a chronological outline is not as essential to developing the essay as a topic based outline is.
