Unique organelles of the plant:
1. Plastids (chloroplasts) are organelles characteristic for the plant which carry the pigment. The most often form of the plastids is chloroplast which contains green pigment-chlorophyll. A plastid is a place where photosynthesis occurs. 2. Vacuoles are the membrane-bound organelles that have a function in the regulation of turgor pressure of the plant cell. Vacuoles are also storage organelles, which contain chemical compounds important for the function of the cell.
3. Peroxisomes are organelles that contain certain oxidative enzymes for metabolism. Another function of peroxisomes is in photosynthesis.
