Head traumas and spinal cord injuries are usually caused by accidents or some illnesses. The long term effect of such injuries may differ from each person and would depend on the cause and severity. Some consequences would include paralysis of the lower part or the upper part of the body that would depend on the location of the injury of the spinal cord. For the head it may be slurred speech,impaired cognition and visual defect.
