Acetylene on combustion produces CO₂ and H₂O,

C₂H₂ + 7/2 O₂ → 2 CO₂ + 3 H₂O

According to Balance equation,

28.05 g of C₂H₂ produces = 2 moles of CO₂
So,
5.80 g of C₂H₂ will produce = X moles of CO₂

Solving for X,
X = (5.80 g × 2 mol) ÷ 28.05 g

X = 0.41 Moles of CO₂
