How do keystone species illustrate the interdependence of organisms living in a community?

Without the keystone species, the next top predator will be the top of the food chain with no predator. This new top predator will, therefore, become over populated and as a result, eat too much of whatever its prey is, creating an extremely fragile and unbalanced ecosystem
