A box contains 8 yellow, 3 orange and 5 purple candies. a tray contains 7 red, 4 blue and 9 orange drinks. if asia chooses one candy and one drink without looking, what is the probability that she will get a yellow candy and not an orange drink. give your answer as a simplified fraction.

To find the probability of getting a yellow candy is 8/16 or 1/2.

The probability of NOT getting an orange drink is 11/20.

To find th probability of both occurring, you multiply these probabilities together.

1/2 x 11/20 = 11/40

There is an 11/40 probability.
