The orthodontic problems have risen in recent homo sapiens because of the shift from hard foods to soft ones. This has resulted to a generally shorter and rounder cranial vault together with a smaller face and smaller jaws. The bone supporting the teeth decreased in size faster than the teeth decreased. This has resulted more orthodontics issues that require artificial straightening of teeth.
