When Juliet and Romeo first meet, they speak in a sonnet. Their lines trade off back and forth and follow the structure and rhyme scheme of a traditional sonnet. Their other interactions are also very poetic in nature, but the sonnet especially is what shows the reader that their love is deep and pure, because sonnets represented a deep, important love.
