A school cafeteria has 3 containers of white milk, 5 containers of chocolate milk and 2 containers of apple juice left. Iliana is first in line and Vishal is second. If the drinks are given out randomly, what is the probability that Iliana will get chocolate milk and Vishal will get apple juice?

In order to calculate the probability, we need the numerator to be the required milk/juice and the denominator to be the total milk/juice available.

First is IIiana for chocolate milk, there are 5 chocolate milks available and total 10 milk/juice are available for random selection. Therefore, the probability would be 5/10.

Second is Vishal for apple juice, there are 2 apple juice available and total 9 milk/juice are now available, as one of which has already been selected for IIiana. Therefore, the probability would be 2/9.

Hence the solution is 5/10 x 2/9 = 10/90 or 1/9.
