The giraffe (using the ruler) is 11 cm.

1 cm : 50 cm

Multiply both sides by 11.

11 cm : 550 cm

There are 0.01 meters in 1 centimeter.

Multiply 550 cm by 0.01.

(550)(0.01) = 5.5

The giraffe's real length is 5.5 meters.
