the quadratic function h(t)=-16.1t^2+150 models a ball's height,in feet,over time,in seconds,adlfter it is dropped from a 15 story buliding. From what height in feet was the ball dropped? After how many seconds, rounded to the nearest hundredth, did the ball hit the ground?

First, set the equation to 0, which looks like this:

0 = -16.1t^2 + 150

Then, you subtract the 150 and move it over to zero. Subtract those two and the equation looks like this:

-150 = -16.1t^2

Divide the equation, and it looks like this:

0.01 = t^2

Square root the equation and the answer is:

t = 0.1

So, basically 0.1 seconds.
