There were actually two states that President Roosevelt lost in the election of 1936. These two states were Maine and Vermont. This landslide victory showed how the American public was happy with the performance of Roosevelt as president, especially because of his New Deal policies. These federal agencies he created that helped employ millions of Americans. Along with this, these programs also helped to improve America's infrastructure and national parks.
