The male hormones are consistently released over a lifetime. That explains why a man can father a child well into his eighties (assuming he can still deliver the sperm, but there are drugs for that). A female's reproductive cycle is just that, a cycle. It begins at puberty, menarche, and ends with the release of an ova from the last follicle. Describe the female reproductive cycle, the hormones involved and what each one does.

There are four female hormones-estrogen, progesterone,luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone
Estrogen, a steroid hormone, carries physiological messages to body organs and systems
Progesterone helps to maintain pregnancy
Luteinizing hormone triggers ovulatuion and development of the corpus luteum.
Follicle-stimulating hormone regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturatuon, and reproductive processes of the body.
