Russia's withdrawal from the war allowed Germany to focus on its resources on a one-front war in the west.
Russia was not powerful than Germany it was only that Russia had a large population of soldiers. Some of the new military weapons which founded in world war 1 are poison gas tanks, submarines and machine gas.
Soldiers used dug trenches to protect themselves from enemy fire. Germany was among the countries which were the central powers of world war 1 while Russia was among the Allied powers of world war 1.
