Cancer cells have little to no adhesins on their cell surfaces hence do not bind other cells to form proper tissues. They also have the ability to penetrate the walls of lymphatic or blood vessels. This way they are able to move from one point in the body from where the tumor is, travel through the blood and lymph vessels to other regions to another to form secondary tumors.
