The main reason why miners from Europe were wanted as workers in Oklahoma was the fact that miners were usually experienced. This was extremely important, as mining did not have a very long history in Oklahoma, and therefore, finding people with enough experience could prove difficult. Moreover, work was more easily available in America than in Europe, and European immigrants were often desperate to work. This made them particularly appealing in the eyes of companies.
