Galileo Galilei is considered the father of modern science because he made several contributions in many fields. He invented a telescope, with the telescope he was able to observe and describe the movement of several planets such as Saturn and Jupiter. He also was the first one to advocate for the heliocentric theory that opposed the Catholic Church's views.
