Experiencing a loss of revenue: When people lost their jobs that decreased the amount of money coming into Social Security but the aging baby boomers were continually drawing out.

The Great Recession has created a debate over Social Security and the best way to secure the future of the program. With so many drawing off the program for so long, they money is running short and a small workforce can't keep up.
