Person a can paint the​ neighbor's house 22 times as fast as person

b. the year a and b worked​ together, it took them 77 daysdays. how long would it take each to paint the ​ house?

Let 1/x=the time it takes for person b to paint
let 1/22x the time that it takes for person a to paint
lastly we have the following since we know that when they work together that is how long it takes

(1)/(x) + (1)/(22x) = (1)/(77)
to solve we first multiply both sides by 1694x

1694 + 77 = 22x
we then combine like terms

1771 = 22x
lastly we divide both sides by 22

80.5 = x
