How does the location of nodules relate to the function of the nodule? Explain.

nodules grow on the roots of a plant. This is optimal for the plants because they help to absorb nutrients from the soil. They would not be very helpful if they grew on the leaves. Then they could not help the plant get nutrients.

I think that the Nodules are produced in root tissue, the roots are used to take nitrogen and other nutrients into the plant. Since the nodules form as a result of the symbiotic relationship with nitrogen fixing organisms, there location is optimal for nitrogen absorption in to the plant.
