Well, one molecule of glucose and six molecules of oxygen change into six molecules of carbon dioxide and six molecules of water. This process happens inside the mitochondrion and it releases ATP energy from glucose. This ATP energy can then be used by the cell to perform its metabolic functions. The energy byproduct of cellular metabolism is heat.
